It all started when...
I was backpacking in South East Asia. I had just graduated from my yoga teacher training with no intention to teach, and an inconsistent practice. Since the first time I practiced yoga, there was this constant feeling inside of me telling me "you need to do this more", but I simply "didn't have the time" , so I ignored it. As I was on an island in Thailand with a few friends, I saw this guy practicing in the distance. As we started to approach, I was absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of his practice. The fluidity, control, and connection he was moving with was like nothing I had ever seen before. After a short conversation with him he shook my hand, looked me straight in the eyes and with the most genuine look of passion said "This practice, is my life." I got shivers throughout my whole body. It was exactly what I needed to hear . In that exact moment, I made the commitment to myself to "make yoga my life", and little did I know I was opening myself up to an entire new way of living I didn't even know existed.
Beyond the physical practice, yoga has shown me an unexplainable level of connection we can have with ourselves and our bodies that is within reach for all of us. It constantly reminds me of our unlimited potential to grow towards our goals and desires, but at the same time it reminds me to be humble and appreciate exactly where I am. It keeps me grounded and connected to the present moment in a way I had never experienced before and has made it clear that is where the magic happens.
